  Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.7, its first global fully electric sedan, in Berlin and Shanghai. Priced at around $66,000, the ID.7 is positioned to compete with the Tesla Model 3 and Chinese models from startups like BYD and NIO. The ID.7 offers a range of up to 435 miles (700 km) on a single charge and is equipped with high-efficiency electric motors delivering 210 kW/286 horsepower. Notable features include an augmented reality head-up display, a 15-inch infotainment screen, massaging seats, a panoramic glass roof, and the IDA voice assistant. The ID.7 also comes with advanced assistance systems, such as Travel Assist, which can steer the car laterally and longitudinally when needed. Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer stated that by 2026, Volkswagen aims to offer the widest electric range of all manufacturers in Europe.
