Shopping Tips

Best value upgrade: The SE w/ Technology is a significant step up — it adds illuminated lightbars, a standard trailer hitch with 5,000-lb tow capacity, Easy Open tailgate, Park Distance Control, and remote start. If you need to tow, this is the minimum trim to consider.
For rugged style: The Peak Edition stands out with all-terrain tires, unique off-road inspired styling, and standard panoramic sunroof, all on the proven Atlas platform. It’s not a dedicated off-roader, but the all-terrain tires and styling differentiate it from the rest of the lineup.
For families wanting luxury: The SEL adds leather seats, heated second-row seats, driver memory, ambient lighting, and the head-up display. It’s the sweet spot between value and premium content.
For maximum equipment: The SEL Premium R-Line loads everything — quilted leather massage seats, Harman Kardon audio, Park Assist, Area View, and 21-inch wheels. If you want the Atlas to rival luxury three-row SUVs, this is the one.
Captain’s Chairs vs. bench: Available on SE w/ Technology and above. Captain’s Chairs reduce capacity from 7 to 6 but add significant second-row comfort and easier third-row access.
Fuel economy note: All trims run on regular unleaded. FWD achieves 23 mpg combined. AWD drops 1–2 mpg depending on trim. The 269-hp turbo-four matches the previous V6 in power while improving efficiency.
