Shopping Tips

Which Trim is Right for You?

Best Value: The 3.3 Turbo Preferred at $42,250 is remarkably well-equipped for 2026, with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power 8-way driver’s seat all now standard. Most buyers will find everything they need here.

Sweet Spot: The 3.3 Turbo Premium at $46,280 adds the 5,000-lb tow rating, hands-free liftgate, Bose audio, full digital cluster, HUD, navigation, and a meaningful step up in safety tech. If you plan to tow, this is the entry point for the higher tow rating.

Luxury Pick: The 3.3 Turbo S Premium at $53,240 brings 340 HP, the full safety suite, Nappa leather, power panoramic sunroof, and the 360° camera. It’s the most complete package before the top-tier cosmetic upgrades.

PHEV Consideration: The PHEV SC at $44,250 makes sense if you have a short commute and can charge at home. However, the base PHEV SC is notably stripped compared to the gas Preferred — no heated seats, no heated wheel, no wireless charging, and leatherette instead of leather. The SC Plus at $47,250 addresses most of these gaps.

Key Competitors

Cross-shop the CX-70 against the Toyota Grand Highlander, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Telluride, Chevrolet Traverse, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Honda Passport. The CX-70’s inline-6 powertrain, standard AWD, and premium interior materials set it apart in this segment.

Things to Know Before You Buy

  • All CX-70 models are 2-row, 5-passenger only. If you need a 3rd row, look at the CX-90.

  • The Standard PT engine runs on regular fuel; High PT and PHEV require premium.

  • 5,000-lb towing requires the Premium trim or higher (and Mazda Genuine Towing Accessories).

  • PHEV models use 19-inch wheels rather than the 21-inch wheels on gas models.

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is standard on all gas models but not the base PHEV SC (wired only).

  • No factory option packages exist — choose your trim and color, and that’s it.

  • Destination and handling adds $1,530 ($1,575 in Alaska) on top of MSRP.
