Reston, VA — Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced the 2026 model year lineup today. The biggest change to the range is the addition of a powerful, new engine in the top trim Tiguan that boasts 268 horsepower. The entire lineup has been updated within the last two model years, with the majority of models new or refreshed for 2025, and Atlas family and ID.4 receiving significant changes for 2024. Select MY26 vehicles are expected to begin arriving in dealer showrooms in August, and others will be launched through early 2026.

ATLAS & ATLAS CROSS SPORT
After a major refresh for the 2024 model year, including an elegant new interior and a refined turbocharged engine, the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport midsize SUVs return to the Volkswagen lineup for 2026. Each model in the Atlas family is available in five trims. The Atlas range includes SE, SE w/ Technology, Peak Edition, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line. Atlas Cross Sport trims include SE, SE w/ Technology, SEL, SEL R-Line Black, and SEL Premium R-Line. For MY26, SE w/ Technology models and above receive a factory-installed HomeLink® mirror.

GOLF GTI & GOLF R
Facelifts for the model year 2025 hot hatches brought a fresh look and enhanced technology, along with a power bump for Golf R models. For 2026, Golf GTI models continue to be available in S, SE, and Autobahn trims. Golf R is available as the standard model only with available Euro Style Package and adds Graphite Gray Metallic as a new exterior color.

ID.4
Volkswagen’s all-electric ID.4 SUV received significant upgrades for the 2024 model year 82-kWh battery models, including a revised infotainment system and software, a new rear electric motor that increased power to 282-hp on rear-wheel- and 335-hp on all-wheel-drive models, and improved range of an EPA-estimated 291 miles for the ID.4 Pro RWD model.

The 2026 model will be available in five trims: Entry (Pro, AWD Pro), S (Pro S, AWD Pro S), and S Plus (AWD Pro S Plus). S Plus models receive a factory-installed HomeLink mirror. The vehicle will get a mid-model-year change in 2026 and receive additional features—details to come closer to launch.

ID. BUZZ
The ID. Buzz debuted for 2025, bringing the classic Microbus into the modern era, re-imagined for the electric future. Details on the 2026 ID. Buzz will be released at a later date.

JETTA & JETTA GLI
The entry models to the VW lineup were refreshed for 2025, adding revised styling, interior refinements, and new technology. Trims for model year 2026 include S, Sport, SE, SEL, GLI Autobahn. Rear-seat pretensioners become standard equipment and SE models benefit from a standard sunroof. SEL and GLI Autobahn models add a premium VW audio system with eight speakers and the latter adds push buttons on the steering wheel.

TAOS
Volkswagen’s entry compact SUV received a major refresh for the 2025 model year, including upgraded tech, improved styling, and key powertrain updates. For model year 2026, trims include S, SE, SE Black, and SEL. Rear-seat pretensioners become standard equipment at launch and wireless charging is enhanced to 15w as a mid-model year change. SEL models add a premium VW audio system with eight speakers.

TIGUAN
The compact Tiguan SUV entered its third generation as an all-new 2025 model with more power, better fuel efficiency, and improved safety-enhancing features compared to the outgoing model, along with a premium cabin and expressive exterior design. Trims for model year 2026 include S, SE, SE R-Line Black, and a new SEL R-Line Turbo. The latter boasts a new 268-hp 2.0-liter EA888 evo5 engine, and all trims benefit from a revised Travel Assist system with Assisted Lane Change.
